I like the vocals in this better than that on the album (and I love that album). Via linnheidi
Flume — Bon Iver
Wow. I ♥ Blogotheque’s “Les Concerts a Emporter”.
All by himself, Tony Dekker – lead singer and songwriter for Canada’s Great Lake Swimmers – gives a delicate, haunting performance. Off “Lost Channels”.

Shins Frontman and Danger Mouse Form Band…
Could there be a more unlikely sounding band? But no, its true.
Yeah, I know, yet another cover of that song. But put your knives down. Give it a chance.

I also really enjoyed their Mrs. Robinson cover.
It just sounded fantastic coming out of your Technics 1200s, the needle’s a bit damaged and the speakers are kind of blowin’ up and you’ve had little bit too much to drink and some twit is asking for The Pogues again so you just whack on, like some Warp record really loud and just clear the dance floor. But you were haven’ the best time.
— Thom Yorke talking to Terry Gross about his days as a DJ and his love of Techno music, in general, and the Warp label in particular.
Look what I’ve got! A super special, signed Plinky Plonk EP that’s only available at shows (or digitally in November).
Reblog this post before October 17 for a chance to win it.
See you at Slim’s tomorrow, Ruffians!
I am particularly glad to no longer be asked when the Beatles are coming to iTunes

Serendipitously ran across these guys during this year’s Make Music Pasadena music fest and couldn’t stop listening to their Bandcamp page for a few weeks straight.

Update: This was last posted waaaaayyyy back on November 12th, 2010. I like re-upping this post every once in awhile. It was a beautiful moment: the music is just awesome, I haven’t experienced anything like it down here in SoCal, and so it contributes to my pining for the Bay Area.

Sitting out on the concrete one day, on the approach to the MacArthur BART station, an upright piano and its player. This was no ordinary, throw-a-dollar-in-my-ratty-guitar-case sort of busker.
